take the challenge.

European Marathon Classics is more than a race series. It’s a journey across Europe that moves body and mind, blends culture and adventure, and brings runners together. Complete five iconic marathons and earn a trophy that reflects your achievement, spirit, and personal European story.

I ran Europe. I went beyond borders.

Europe is a mosaic of culture, history, and grit. Every city has a different rhythm, a different spirit, and a different finish line.

The European Marathon Classics (EMC) brings together the continent's most legendary races. But we don't believe in "one size fits all" rewards. Our logo - a set of 10 concentric rings - represents the 10 great cities of this circuit. For every marathon you finish, you earn that city’s Official Coin: a precision-crafted, color-coded piece of the final puzzle.

You don't just receive this medal.
You build it.

What is European Marathon Classics?

European Marathon Classics is more than just a running challenge. It’s a movement that connects running, travel, and culture. It encourages healthy habits, inspires runners to push their limits, and builds a strong sense of belonging across cities, countries, and communities.
European Marathon Classics promotes responsible participation in sport and respect for the environment. These are values shared by all eight races.

Which races are part of European Marathon Classics?

European Marathon Classics includes eight iconic city marathons, each with its own vibe and story:

  • Acea Run Rome The Marathon – Rome, Italy
  • Vienna City Marathon – Vienna, Austria
  • TCS London Marathon – London, United Kingdom
  • Zurich Rock ’n’ Roll Running Series Madrid – Madrid, Spain
  • Copenhagen Marathon – Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Warsaw Marathon – Warsaw, Poland
  • EDP Maratona de Lisboa – Lisbon, Portugal
  • Mainova Frankfurt Marathon – Frankfurt, Germany
Only the full marathon distance counts toward completing European Marathon Classics. Half marathons, relays, and virtual races are not included.

Why these races?

They’re iconic, well-organized, and deeply connected to their cities. Together, they cover all regions of Europe and offer very different, but equally memorable, running experiences.

Will European Marathon Classics grow in the future?

Eight European Marathon Classics races were selected to ensure the series reflects the full diversity of Europe, covering the south, north, east, and west of the continent. This number also presents a meaningful yet achievable challenge for participants, while leaving scope for the series to expand in future editions.

Why does the logo have 10 rings if there are only 8 marathons?

The ten rings symbolize the openness and growth of the series. Currently, eight races are part of the circuit, while the additional elements visually represent cultural, tourist, and sporting diversity.

How do I join European Marathon Classics?

Go to https://europeanmarathonclassics.letsdothis.com, create your profile, add upcoming races, and start your European Marathon Classics journey.

Does joining European Marathon Classics include race entry?

No. Each marathon is organized independently. You must register separately for each race through its official website.

Is European Marathon Classics free?

Yes. Joining European Marathon Classics is free. You only pay standard entry fees for the individual marathons.

Do I need to run the races in a specific order?

No. Complete them in any order that suits your schedule and goals.

Is there a time limit to finish the challenge?

No deadlines. Take your time and enjoy the journey.

Can I run more than five races?

Absolutely. Five races earn you the Finisher title, but you can, and we encourage you to, complete all eight for the full experience.

What is the European Marathon Classics Medal?

The medal is a symbol of your journey. Its unique concentric design can be personalised with magnetic coins from each race you complete. Each coin represents a city, a finish line, and a personal story.

When do I receive the medal?

The European Marathon Classics Medal is awarded free of charge at the finish line of your fifth completed European Marathon Classics marathon.

Do I get anything for individual races?

Yes. After each completed marathon, you can collect the official race e-coin, which will be available in the EMC panel.

Where can I get the collectible coins?
At this stage, only virtual e-coins will be available. After completing the race, they will appear in the “My Achievements” section. We are working on making physical coins available for purchase in the European Marathon Classics online store and at the expo before the races in the series.
What if I completed five European Marathon Classics marathons in the past?

We’re working together with LetsDoThis.com on a system that will allow historical results to count. Once this option is available, we can verify your past achievements.
Because European Marathon Classics medals are not sent by mail, we invite you to pick up your medal at an official expo or at the finish line of any EMC race. We’ll be happy to place it around your neck in person, just like it should be!

How do my results appear in my profile?

Add the races you plan to run to your European Marathon Classics profile. After each race, official results are automatically matched and added.

How are results validated?

Only official results published by each marathon organizer are accepted.

Do past marathon results count?

Yes. Recognising past achievements is one of our core principles. Verified historical results will be added to profiles starting in the Q3 2026.

What if my result is missing or incorrect?

Contact the marathon organizer directly! They manage official timing and results.

Does European Marathon Classics offer travel or accommodation packages?

No. European Marathon Classics focuses on recognising participation and achievement. Travel and accommodation are up to the runner.

Can I transfer my race entry to another city or year?

It depends on each marathon’s individual rules. European Marathon Classics only follows the official policies of each event.

Do virtual marathons count toward European Marathon Classics?

No. Only official, in-person marathon results from European Marathon Classics races are recognised.

What if I can’t run a race I’m registered for?

Because each marathon is organized separately, entries cannot be exchanged between races or cities.

How can I get help or contact European Marathon Classics?

What is the European Marathon Classics Historical Results Verification system?
The Historical Results Verification system allows you to add your previous finishes from the eight European Marathon Classics races to your EMC profile.
Once verified, your historical results become part of your EMC journey, unlock digital e-coins in your EMC profile, and count towards the European Marathon Classics Finisher challenge.
Why did European Marathon Classics introduce historical results verification?
To recognise your past achievements and connect them with your EMC journey. The initiative allows you to bring your previous marathon finishes into the challenge, become part of a growing global running community and continue your path towards becoming a European Marathon Classics Finisher.
It reflects EMC’s belief that every marathon counts, every finish matters and every runner’s journey deserves recognition.
When does the historical results verification system launch?
The system launches on 15 July 2026. The feature was first announced during the official European Marathon Classics launch in Vienna in February 2026 and is now available worldwide through a strategic partnership with LetsDoThis.
Which marathons are included in the historical results verification system?
The system covers all eight European Marathon Classics races, starting from the very first edition of each race.
• Run Rome The Marathon
• Vienna City Marathon
• Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon
• TCS London Marathon
• Copenhagen Marathon
• Warsaw Marathon
• EDP Lisbon Marathon
• Mainova Frankfurt Marathon
Is the historical results verification service free?
Yes. The service is completely free of charge for all runners.
How can I verify my historical marathon results?
The process is simple:
1. Log in to your account at www.europeanmarathonclassics.eu
2. Go to “My Journey” and select “Results”
3. Click “Find Results”
4. Select:
o one of the eight EMC marathons,
o the year of participation
5. Click “Search for my results”
The system will automatically search the available database.
What happens when my historical result is found?
Once your result is found and automatically verified, it is added to your EMC profile.
A digital e-coin representing that marathon city is generated and added to your collection.
What should I do if my result cannot be found?
If your result is not found, you can:
• check whether your EMC profile name matches the name used during race registration,
• add an alternative name if applicable,
• submit an individual result request for further verification.
The EMC database will continue to expand as additional historical performances are verified.
Will all historical results be available immediately?
No. Due to the long history of EMC races, complete archives are not available for every year. Race organisations, timing systems and data processes have changed over time, which means some historical results require additional verification.
The first phase includes all results currently available in the EMC database. We will announce further phases as additional historical results become available.
Please follow European Marathon Classics’ official social media channels and communication platforms to stay updated on new releases and future verification opportunities.
How far back do the historical results go?
The system covers hundreds of thousands of marathons results across nearly 50 years of marathon history. The availability of individual results depends on the historical data preserved by each race.
Do historical results count towards the EMC challenge?
Yes. Verified historical finishes count towards the European Marathon Classics challenge exactly in the same way as current verified results.
How do I become a European Marathon Classics Finisher?
You become an official European Marathon Classics Finisher after completing five different EMC marathons.
Verified historical results count towards this achievement.
There is no time limit to complete the challenge.
What does an EMC Finisher receive?
Every runner who completes the challenge receives the title of European Marathon Classics Finisher and a commemorative medal featuring collectible magnetic coins representing completed cities.
Will the EMC Finisher medal be delivered by mail?
No. The medal is awarded in person at an official EMC race expo or at the finish line of any EMC race.
We believe that achievements like this deserve a special celebration moment — together with the running community, exactly where marathon emotions are at their strongest.
When will the first EMC Finisher medals be awarded?
The first medals will be awarded during:
• 48th Warsaw Marathon – 27 September 2026
• EDP Lisbon Marathon – 10 October 2026
• Mainova Frankfurt Marathon – 25 October 2026
Can I join EMC if I have not completed any EMC marathon yet?
Yes. You can create a free EMC account and become part of a growing global marathon community.
Start your journey today, collect verified finishes and continue building your European Marathon Classics story through future races.
