The Mainova Frankfurt Marathon is one of Europe’s fastest and most prestigious races. Its flat, runner‑friendly course leads athletes through diverse neighborhoods and past many of Frankfurt’s iconic landmarks: along the Museumsufer by the River Main, past the Alte Oper, through Höchst, where the event was launched in 1981 and into the heart of the city’s urban landscape with its impressive skyline that has earned Frankfurt the nickname “Mainhattan.” The event’s signature highlight is its spectacular indoor finish in the Festhalle, where runners cross the line under dramatic lighting and cheering crowds, an experience unmatched by any other major marathon.

Wilson Kipsang set the still‑standing course record in 2011 with an impressive 2:03:42. Frankfurt also delivers top performances in women’s running: in 2024, Hawi Feysa finished in 2:17:25, marking the third‑fastest marathon debut ever.German marathon history was made here as well. Getting THERE
Train

Reaching the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon by train is fast, convenient, and eco‑friendly. Frankfurt’s Central Station (Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof) is one of Europe’s major rail hubs, offering frequent national and international connections. From there, the marathon venues and the start/finish area are just a few minutes away by tram, subway, or on foot. With excellent public transport links and short travel times across the city, arriving by train ensures a smooth and stress‑free start to your marathon weekend.

Car

On October 23th and 24th, 2026, the parking garages in the vicinity of the trade fair center can be used (Messeturm, Skyline Plaza, surrounding hotels – note: Rebstock parking garage closed on Fridays and Saturdays).
On October 25th, 2026, all surrounding roads will be closed from 7:00 a.m. onwards, so the only possible means of arrival will be as follows:
Follow the signs „Messe Frankfurt“ and leave the A5 freeway at the exit „Westkreuz Frankfurt“ onto the A648 freeway, leave the A648 at the exit „Rebstock/ADAC“.
Continue to follow the signs to „Messe-Parkhaus“ (address for navigation systems: Zum Messeparkhaus Rebstock, 60486 Frankfurt am Main). Parking spaces are available there.
From Messeparkhaus Rebstock we offer a free shuttle service to the exhibition grounds on October 25th, 2026.
